East Midlands Climate Change champion joins Environment Minister to meet Chinese environment ambassadors at major youth summit

Two of the nine English climate change champions will on Thursday July 13 join Climate Change and Environment Minister Ian Pearson to speak at the Natural History Museum's Student Summit on Climate Change.

Carri Swann from Beeston, Nottingham and Lucy Stansfield from the South West, will also join the Minister after their speeches in meeting six Chinese environment ambassadors to talk about tackling climate change.

11.10  - Speech by Climate Change and Environment Minister Ian Pearson on "Is the UK doing enough to address climate change?"

11.30 - Short speeches by Lucy Stansfield and Carri Swann followed by Q and A with the Minister

11.55pm - Photocall with the six Chinese environment ambassadors at the Natural History Museum's exhibition: "The Ship: The Art of Climate Change"

The British Council is supporting the Natural History Museum's Student Summit on Climate Change by providing an international dimension to the four-day event with students attending from countries such as Bahrain, Cameroon, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Kuwait, Malaysia, Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Sweden and the Yemen. Their visit is part of the British Council's ZeroCarbonCity campaign that aims to stimulate greater public debate and awareness of the energy challenges facing the world's cities.
