Working in the Construction Industry?
Is YOUR business ready for the new Construction Industry Scheme?
In April 2007, the Government introduces a new Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) to manage the tax liability of Sub-contractors involved in the construction industry.
You need to act fast . . .
Ask yourself some important questions . . .
- Do you fully understand the new CIS?
- Are you and your staff trained on the new scheme?
- Have you allocated a person within your organisation who is responsible for the new requirements prior to April 07?
- Is your present accounting and payroll software up to the job?
If the answer to any of these questions is NO, then you need to think about CIS…..
The BusinessICT project is keen to ensure we help raise awareness of the changes throughout the local business community and we are working with a local ICT services provider, Alliance Computing Technologies (ACT) to study an example of a cost-effective IT solution, which could potentially help you manage this more effectively for your business.
We are holding a FREE workshop on Wednesday 29th November 2006 (4.30 – 6pm) at our premises in Lincoln to discuss CIS and understand what it means for your business. We will also be reviewing this recently launched software package (developed by Access CIS Systems), which takes account of all known changes to the legislation to enable businesses to start preparing records and collating information immediately.
The Business Application Software Developer's Association (BASDA) has recently published a white paper containing all the information that you need to know about the new CIS. This independent paper retails at £25.00, however we will have copies available completely free of charge at the workshop.
