BUSINESS IN SOUTH HOLLAND SURVEY ANALYSIS – SEPTEMBER 2007
A questionnaire was mailed to businesses in South Holland. The aim being to capture information about the businesses operating in South Holland and determine future business needs. The information will feed into the review of the Economic Development Strategy and emerging Local Development Framework.
FSB - Congestion charging needs a rethink say businesses

eAdoption proves successful for 62% of East Midlands’ businesses
East Midlands Development Agency (emda) has announced the results of the 2006 eAdoption Survey, which showed that 62% of the region’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have seen improvements to their business performance since introducing ICT. This is in comparison to the startling findings of 2005 which showed that 55% of companies believed eBusiness was not important.

Businesses to be Aware of Bogus Data Protection Agencies
Businesses are being warned by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) to be aware of bogus data protection agencies contacting them to register under the Data protection Act 1998 (DPA). This is after two men have been ordered to pay back hundreds of thousands of pounds to businesses who paid a bogus agency for registration. Early Growth Fund gets off the Ground
At an event held on Tuesday 21 November 2006, a new £5million venture capital fund was launched by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and E-Synergy Limited. Aimed at helping the region’s start-up and early stage businesses, the East Midlands Early Growth Fund will address the ‘equity gap’ which restricts young businesses from accessing growth funding.
