An exciting new programme with the Open University
'Graduate at Work' is designed for people who have chosen not to go to university but would like to study for a degree while they are working. Employers can benefit from this programme as their employee can link their degree to their job - a win win situation!

Support is available for
- Students leaving 6th Forms or colleges wanting to begin employment but with the desire and ability to study at degree level
- Individuals currently working but wanting to achieve a degree level qualification
- Staff in employment wanting to develop higher level skills to improve job and career prospects

Employer Led Programme
- Employers identify job opportunities which they wish to offer able school or college leavers with the capacity to develop higher level skills
- Employers dentify existing employees who, with the benefit of higher education experience, could progress in their job or the company
- Employers ensure that systems are in place to support the student in the workplace particularly by creating agreed and protected study time
Our Role
- Helping employers to understand the initiative
- Helping the information exchange between prospective students and employers
- Assisting in the identification of job opportunities or eligible employees
- Helping the recruitment process
- Liaising with Aimhigher (Lincolnshire and Rutland) who will identify appropriate schools and colleges
- Liaising with the Open University who will assist the company and student choose the right programme of study
The Open University will provide
- Information about Open University courses, programmes and qualifications for employers and potential students
- Help for students to develop the skills to succeed and progress in a part-time distance learning environment
Aimhigher also supports the programme
- Informing schools of the Graduate at Work initiative
- Identifying appropriate school contacts
- Mediating an information exchange between the school, prospective student, Success Matrix and the Open University
