This project aimed to make farmers aware of practical, environmentally beneficial and cost effective opportunities to improve their water resource management.
Success Matrix Events won a tender, with delivery partners JH Walter to lead the organisation of five workshop based events addressing the issue of water efficiency on farms. These events included an on farm demonstration and aimed to demonstrate the environmental and economic benefits of ‘small scale’ water capture around the farm. The events were aimed at different farming sectors; glasshouse growers, dairy farmers and three events for farms with irrigators.
Targets & Achievements:
- Target: A minimum of 20 delegates should join the programme of 5 events
- Result: 117 delegates participated in the programme
- Target: Following the event, over 75% of land manager attendees will act on the change in management practice advice provided
- Result: 96% of attendees were likely to change their practices
- Target: 85% of advice given by speakers at the events is classed as good or better than good
- Result: 87%
- Target: Over 75% of land manager attendees say that their understanding of the specific issues has increased as a result of attending the seminar
- Result: 91% said their knowledge improved as a result of attending.
