LeicestHERday Annual Conference 2007

Success Matrix have been involved with the annual LeicestHERday conference since 2002. On March 16th 2007, this year’s event proved a huge success attracting over 1,000 women, girls and men. The theme was “A Century of Change and Challenge 1907 – 2007”, the focus was on the suffragette movement and the relevance that has still today. Leicester’s first suffragette Alice Hawkins was showcased throughout the day, with her tireless fight for women’s voices to be heard, including the right to vote.

Many more enjoyed complimentary holistic treatments, watched Indian dancing, and interacted with the 60 plus stalls and exhibitions, with organisations ranging from local voluntary groups to British Telecom.

“This event just gets better every year. We aim to provide an event where a diverse range of women can come along and receive advice, guidance, inspiration, of just to have a bit of fun! This year our mix of activities and programme certainly ticks the right boxes, whether you are looking to set up your own business, are looking for a better career, or just want to get out of the house and meet other women.”  Penny Waterfield, events and logistics manager and a LeicestHERday Trustee.

Feedback from evaluation forms confirmed a great day was had by all, with 94% of respondents rating the conference as good or excellent. Success Matrix looks forward to being involved in an even better event in 2008!
